Removing friction

James was getting annoyed at having to remember the correct format and dates for getting new posts to work with our Jekyll setup for the Workshop.

Like all good developers, we cobbled together a little script to help us out, and avoid any hassles in the future from an incorrect date or timezone.

It’s a simple script to generate a new file with the date and url structure as its name, and then populate it with our default post front matter (the meta data at the top of Jekyll files).

We can now easily create new posts and focus on the writing rather than remembering how to configure meta data.
